It is an honour and a responsibility to serve as the Inspector General of the Sindh Prisons & Correctional Service at a time when meaningful prison reform is not only a functional necessity but a moral obligation. Our commitment is anchored in three core values: Safe Custody, Human Dignity, and Meaningful Rehabilitation.

We are driving a comprehensive transformation to reimagine prisons — from centres of confinement to institutions of reform and reintegration. At the forefront of this vision is a strong emphasis on digital governance and transparency. Initiatives such as biometric verification at entry points, an integrated Prison Management Information System (PMIS), advanced HR management tools, and a centralized Command & Control Centre are being implemented to ensure efficiency, accountability, and real-time decision-making.

Security infrastructure is being modernized with AI-enabled surveillance systems, facial recognition, smart scanners, and digital access control, all designed to strengthen safety while upholding the dignity of those in our custody.

Our mission extends beyond security. We are prioritizing education, vocational training, and rehabilitation, in partnership with organizations such as STEVTA, UNODC, and academic institutions. Inmates are being equipped with certified skills and opportunities that prepare them for a more productive life upon release.

In line with our commitment to reform, we are also engaging universities, youth, and researchers to foster a transparent and inclusive environment for continuous improvement.

These efforts are being guided and supported by the leadership of the Honourable Minister for Prisons & Works and Services, Mr. Ali Hassan Zardari, whose vision continues to shape the department’s progressive trajectory.
