Collaborations Partnership / MOU with STEVTA

A series of initiatives have been launched to provide vocational and technical training to prisoners in Sindh for their rehabilitation and skill development. Meetings between Sindh Prisons and STEVTA resulted in training programs for inmates at Central Jail Mirpur Khas, including courses in electrical work, refrigeration, electronics, and basic computing. Electrical training has already started, equipping inmates with skills in LED repair, wiring, and motor winding. Additionally, a new computer lab was inaugurated to enhance digital literacy among prisoners. Discussions led by IG Sindh Prisons emphasized broader prison reforms, including probation activation and industrial unit installations for employment. STEVTA has also committed to providing free technical training for the children of prison staff.

 

Contributions:

Senior Superintendent Central Jail Mirpur Khas met the Regional Director of STEVTA (STEVTA) and discussed to start the following corks in connection with the skills of various tasks to the inmates of Central Jail Meerpur Khas.
1. General electrician
2. Refrigeration and AC
3. General fitter
4. Electronics
5. Basic computer
 
 
Officer-in-charge Central Jail Mirpur Khas Shahabuddin Siddiqui with the cooperation of STEVTA has conducted electrical works classes in which the prisoners are being trained to repair LED bulbs, electric wiring, motor winding, fans etc.
 
 
 On the direction of Honorable Minister for Sindh Prison Ali Hassan Zardari and Inspector General Sindh Prisons Kazi Nazir Ahmed, Officer In-charge Abdul Qadeer Palejo established Computer Lab. Sindh Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority(
STEVTA ) provided all the necessary computer equipments for computer literacy center. District Prison Naushahroferoz is the only district Prison to have such facility for prisoners.
